Yep...another day on the job...

So, it may seem like I have an awesome job where I get to do awesome things...but, actually, it's TRUE...I do have an awesome job and I get to do some awesome things (and get paid for it), like taking a tour up near the Duchesne Tunnel, where we had lunch by a cool waterfall...

Nike Women's Half-Marathon

Well...we made it! It was a fun weekend, and the scenery on the course was fantastic. The hills were killers, though, and I didn't finish as fast as I wanted to. I finished in 2:03, so not too bad, although I was hoping to beat the 2 hour mark...oh well...maybe next time :) Missy did great, and felt better at the finish line than I did...

We got our Tiffany necklaces, handed to us by HOT tuxedo-wearing firemen. And lots of fun stuff at the finish line...Jamba Juice, yogurt and granola, and the Finish line store...to buy MORE stuff!

We had a lot of fun in San Francisco. We will miss the yummy pumpkin muffins, the haunted elevator and the limo ride to In-n-Out after the race!

It was also fun to have my BFF Janet there supporting the runners as a volunteer, and my mom and her friend Sheryl as spectators!

My Little "Friend"

So, mountain biking up the canyon, we were riding along a little road and I see something almost beneath my wheel. I swerved and missed it by an INCH. I think somewhere in my brain, it registered SNAKE because I let out a little yelp, and Daryl says, "What?" I said, "I almost ran over a rattlesnake!" And he goes back to look at it, and uh...poke it with a stick...apparently to scientifically verify that yes, it was a rattlesnake. I stayed FAR AWAY, yelling made-up statistics like "100% of people who poke snakes with sticks get bit!"
