Tour de Donut Results

Some of you may know that I can put away a lot of food. I've out-eaten 6 guys at all-you-can-eat Taco Night, I have eaten a giant yucky apple fritter just to prove that I could, and now my talent at eating has finally been recognized...I took 2nd place at the Tour de Donut! I ate 10 donuts and one more donut would have clinched the women's division for me. Even with some early technical difficulties...Jordan took 5th..pretty impressive since she'd only planned on eating a donut or two...she ate 7. Chad wussed out on us and ate 3 measly donuts. Sad effort, Chad. We expect a little more from you next year.

21 miles of biking and all the donuts you can eat...what a race! Jordan and I had a great time. We probably spent a little too much time chatting at the donut table and not enough time shoving those glazed babies in our mouths. We'll have to formulate a better strategy for next year....that Golden Donut will be MINE!

Tour de Donut

Chad, Jordie, and I will all be participating in the Tour de Donut tomorrow. We signed up for this a while ago, and we've been in training, eating donuts and riding our bikes. It should be a great event, not only for the biking and donuting, but because the race is now raising funds for the family of a young cyclist who was killed in an accident earlier this week. The story on the news has had me thinking a lot since then, especially since she was hit on a road that I ride and run on frequently. Life is precious...we should try to find joy in every day, living with gratitude and serving others.

Spinsters are people, too.

It was one of those weekends. I have a feeling that God might be laughing at me.

  • I was asked out on a date....he took me to a musical about a plain spinster.

  • I got a cute thank-you note from a little girl in the ward...she wanted to know if I'd found a husband yet.

  • Engagement/wedding announcements galore...for girls 21 and under.

Not funny.
